Privacy Policy

Lykta collects no personal data. This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data — there is no data to handle. This page explains that in the detail App Store review and data-protection law expect.

What we collect

Nothing. Lykta has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers and no third-party SDKs of any kind.

The app does not have the network entitlement. It runs inside the macOS App Sandbox with no permission to reach the internet, so it could not send data anywhere even if it tried.

What stays on your Mac

Your preferences — the chosen duration, whether to keep the display on, whether to start when you sign in — are stored in the standard macOS user defaults under the identifier com.nakytec.lykta. They never leave your device and are removed when you delete the app and run defaults delete com.nakytec.lykta.

This website

This site sets no cookies, embeds no third-party scripts, no fonts from external servers and no analytics. Our host records standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page) for security and reliability; these are not used to profile visitors and are not combined with anything else.

Children

Lykta is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, precisely because it collects nothing.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over your personal data. Since we hold none, there is nothing for us to disclose or delete — but if you believe otherwise, write to us and we will answer.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated date above changes with it, and any release that starts collecting data would say so plainly in its release notes. That is not planned.
